Guide and Digital Archives A vast majority of the collection is available for online viewing. The Guide contains information on all items in the Marguerite deAngeli Collection. In most instances, digital images of the illustrations in the collection; manuscript pages; preliminary notes; correspondences and photographs can be viewed online. Because of copyright restrictions, some of the digital images are accessible only through Lapeer District Library computer terminals. In 1999, a portion of the collection was digitized with funding, in part, from a Library Services and Technology Act subgrant from the Institute of Museum & Library Services, administered by the Library of Michigan, the Mideastern Michigan Library Cooperative and Lapeer District Library (learn more about the grant). Exhibits A rotating exhibit of Mrs. deAngeli's life, works, and accomplishments are on display throughout the year in the Marguerite deAngeli Meeting Room. The library houses an extensive collection of Mrs. deAngeli's illustrations, manuscripts and other original materials including her Newbery Medal. Researchers are asked to call to schedule an appointment to view original primary source materials. | Viewing Original Materials The library collection contains all of deAngeli's published books and many of books and magazine articles she illustrated for other writers. - Located in Mrs. deAngeli's hometown, Lapeer, Michigan 921 Nepessing Street (Corner of M-21 and M-24)
